Responsible Conduct of Gaming

Responsible gambling services must be provided wherever gambling activities are undertaken. In the hospitality industry, the gambling environment is usually referred to as the gaming area and is provided in a range of venues, such as hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and casinos. 

Responsible Service of Alcohol


Responsible practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is sold or served, including where alcohol samples are served at on-site product tastings. This unit applies to any workplace where alcohol is sold or served, including all hospitality venues, packaged liquor outlets and wineries, breweries and distilleries. After successful completion you'll be issued an RSA competency card from Liquor and Gaming NSW.

Responsible Service of Alcohol/Responsible Gambling Services

This package includes both SITHFAB021 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol and SITHGAM022 Provide Responsible Gambling Services. This course is an essential for anyone looking to work in the hospitality industry. 

Certificate II in Retail Services


SIR20216
This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants. With this qualification you will be qualified to be a frontline retail team member such as a customer services assistant and point of sale operator.

Certificate III in Hospitality

This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants. Meet Trainer – Ben Cox

Ben Cox, who teaches ATWEA students at our Laman Street Campuses and the former Cessnock Campus has worked with and watched with pride numbers of graduates who have come from uncertainty about themselves to confident professionals in the hospitality sector.

鈥淚n some cases, they are long term unemployed and that can badly damage self-confidence. Some students have entered these courses facing challenges that seem insurmountable to them, but they learn to turn that perception around.鈥�

Ben said that the joy of teaching was to witness at first hand how people take and use information to develop themselves and their specific skills to become confident and eminently employable.

Graduates from Atwea鈥檚 accredited hospitality courses have found employment in the vineyards of the Hunter and the major ‘eat streets’ of Newcastle as well as many other venues.
